Gear requirements

Rule 2-1.1: Uniform is a black-and-white striped shirt, black pants, predominantly black shoes, and black socks.

  • Shirt: UHSAA requires the UHSAA logo on the striped shirt. Out West Officials is an authorized source for UHSAA gear.
  • Pants: Athletic slacks—no joggers or casual wear. Belt required when there are belt loops. A little stretch helps movement.
  • Shoes: Predominantly black; a quality running or basketball shoe reduces injury risk.
  • Jacket: Black with UHSAA logo—sew a logo on any black jacket or buy one from an authorized vendor.
  • Whistle: Pea-less (e.g. Fox 40), loud enough for the gym.
  • Bag: Athletic bag or rolling suitcase; arrive at the school in business dress and change on site.
